@abufender When they were new in the early 90's I seem to remember the setup was about 1500-1800 (USD) depending on which setup you got Roland made quite a few over many years and I think they still make a few.The GR-09 was ground breaking when it was released even metal bands were using it, the midi pickup was revolutionary and is still used today.

It is a synth not a workstation (which is awesome) So it wont be pricy if there are no internal seqencers built in. The D50 is a nice sounding keyboard and I owned on in the 90's but is it really that great? I'm not really hearing anything here that an JV1080 can't do or Korg Wavestation/M1. Slight difference in the patches and admittedly a few classics in the D50 but I really think its possibly being way overhyped. I'd take a Korg M1 over this any day.

Hi. I'm having trouble transferring patches to my Roland D50. I have the Sysex D50 programme. Everytime I try to transfer the patches the synth displays "WAITING". I have a brand new Pc to midi cable. I'm wondering if one of the midi ports are damaged. It should say LOADING if the patches are transferring but it wont work. I've tried everything. Can anyone help?

This video doesnt suggest V-drums are better than acoustic, nor does it suggest Omar uses only V-drums. Its just a video of what Omar sounds like playing V-drums. Omar can make 5-gallon buckets sound good. I own both V-drums and acoustic and I enjoy both sets the same. V-drums especially when my wife is asleep.

I think anyone who complains about V-Drums not sounding or responding like acoustic drums is a moron. If you want acoustic drums, use acoustic drums. But some people are not stuck in the past, holding onto the idea that a 'good' sound is the sound of acoustic 'Rock' drums we've all heard thousands, if not millions, of times before. Some people want to embrace the new sounds and new possibilities that V-Drums allow and do their own thing, not imitate others.

I think people that bang on about vdrums not being the same as acoustic sound like a broken record. I couldn't practice enough if i didn't have the vdrums - i simply cannot practice on the acoustic kit for any prolonged period - My neighbors would call the police. You can hear me playing the acoustic kit at the end of my street. They serve their purpose : quiet practice with reasonable realism. The whole elec vs acoustic debate is completely pointless.

couldnt agree with you more. It's also a lot harder to control your dynamics I find and the cymbals dont blend well. The drums just sound...fake. They all in all just sound like a crappy little MIDI beat

Looks like it has amazing sound changing capabilities, and can produce audio with a great techno feel :P. But it lacks the ability to play 2 or 3 different melodies simultaneously using different instruments. e.g. the Stagea Electone. What's also impressive is that the Fantom-G allows customization on the "supernatural" sounds. But, the super articulation on Yamaha's tyros 3 seems to be better, but lacks the extra customization.

@prankit1 the PSR-S910 was made for people who want to play solo so it has a accompaniment feature that play along with the style you selacted it has a lot of rock&pop style that have great qulaty sounds that only the tyros 3 can beat overall the PSR-S910 is for home enthusits while the Fantom G8 is for studio and live performince purposes but both keyboards are fun to mess around with

i got the g7 and its the best keyboard i ever played did four tracks with it you could hook up your condensor mic to it and edit all your tracks and tweek sounds and add 16 sounds all in one the best of all keyboard.... the only bad thing is you have to buy alot of extra stuffs like usb card, foot padle, 1gig internal memories [$100+] and the supernatural exp cards all together your spending about another $1200 and keeping up with the update thats about it....but other then that i love it

the fantom m3 and motif xs sound great to me...they got a wealth of features..i saw one on the m3 which really caught my attention...but id go with the fantom g if i had to choose..my second choice wud be a motif xs..not soo much of a korg fan so i wud make it my third choice..but that doesnt mean that its not a great keyboard cuz it really is...jus never been a fan of it..

I owned this machine when it was brand-new, along with the companion TR-727 percussion drum machine. It was fun as hell, but sounded VERY thin and wimpy. You really need to doctor the sounds come mix time.
